Fabric Care Hints & Tips

Drapes
- Shrinkage can be expected if fabrics are not completely stabilized before production
- Clean drapes once a year to protect from excess staining and soiling,
matching garments such as bedspreads should be cleaned together
- Vacuum often to remove dust and grit that can cause soiling and fibre abrasion
- Protect from strong natural light to avoid degeneration and colour fade.
- Rotate draperies occasionally to vary the light exposure
You are welcome to use Hakuyohsa's air-conditioned spacious storage room.
All garments will be checked and cleaned before storage.  Summer clothing must be cleaned to remove sweat before storage.
Silk scarf / stole
- Blot the stains with a white cloth (do not rub) and dry-clean ASAP
- Be careful that they can be scratched by bags or accessories easily
- Stow individually in small boxes or document boxes with shelves
It is not recommended that you attempt any stain removal using water unless you have pretested an unexposed seam.  Wet the fabric and blot it with a white cloth (do not rub).  Allow it to air dry to determine if the dye and sizing are disturbed.  Removal of heavy perspiration, or a concentrated food or beverage stain, could be virtually impossible for you to successfully do.  Why risk a disaster using "Home Remedy" when you could rely on our Expert Stain Removal abilities?
Perspiration left in a garment can eventually cause deterioration.
Clothes should be cleaned as soon as possible to avoid yellow discoloration and permanent staining.  Clothing frequently worn or people who perspire heavily should have their clothes cleaned more frequently.

Frequent cleaning of household items and clothes are essential to maintain clean living and good health.

Clean clothes frequently; soiled clothes are an invitation to insects.
Do not store dirty clothing from one season to the next.

Protect your clothing from Clothes Moths
- Food or sweat stains provided proteins that attract clothes moth larvae
- Store ONLY drycleaned or laundered clothing in a cool dry place

MILDEW can damage and weaken fabrics and fibers.  It is a growing organism that must have warmth, darkness and moisture to survive.
Keep storage places dry and clean to prevent MILDEW.
